A skin cancer check is a systematic, full-body examination of the skin, usually with dermoscopy and, increasingly, total body photography, to detect skin cancers early. Australia has among the highest melanoma rates in the world, which makes regular skin checks especially valuable here.
Melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers are extremely common in Australia. Detected early, most skin cancers are highly treatable; detected late, melanoma in particular can be life-threatening. Regular, thorough checks are a high-value, low-risk form of prevention.
A skin check is not scored numerically; each lesion is assessed and categorised:
A full-body skin cancer check is offered as an add-on to any HodieLabs membership, using dermoscopy and 3D total body photography to track changes over time at our Melbourne Preventative Health & Longevity Clinic.

A clinician systematically examines your skin, usually with dermoscopy and often total body photography, assessing each lesion and recommending monitoring, biopsy or referral where needed.
Australia has among the highest rates of melanoma and skin cancer in the world. Early detection makes most skin cancers highly treatable, so regular checks are especially valuable.
It depends on your risk. People with fair skin, many moles, prior skin cancer or high sun exposure generally benefit from more frequent checks, your clinician will advise.
It is imaging that records your skin so lesions can be compared over time, helping detect change, particularly useful for people with many moles.
A full-body skin cancer check with dermoscopy and 3D total body photography is available as an add-on at our Melbourne Preventative Health and Longevity Clinic.
