Standard C-reactive protein; a general marker of infection or inflammation. CRP (standard) is measured by blood test as part of the Inflammation panel in the HodieLabs Health Blueprint.
For cardiovascular risk stratification, hs-CRP (high-sensitivity assay) is preferred over standard CRP. hs-CRP <1 / 1–3 / >3 mg/L stratification is the standard ACC/AHA cardiovascular risk framework.
Associated risks when out of range: Non-specific acute phase reactant elevated in infection, trauma, and autoimmune conditions. Standard CRP is less sensitive than hs-CRP for detecting low-grade chronic inflammation.
The HodieLabs Evidence-Based Clinical Library classifies CRP (standard) as an strong evidence-tier biomarker. Its reference ranges come from a published authority standard rather than from observational optimisation targets. The standard used here is ACC/AHA 2019 primary prevention guidelines; hs-CRP <1 mg/L low risk, 1–3 mg/L intermediate, >3 mg/L high cardiovascular risk. >10 mg/L usually reflects acute inflammation, not chronic CVD risk. Where relevant clinical outcomes are noted on this page, they reflect the guideline literature referenced below.
The HodieLabs Evidence-Based Clinical Library interprets CRP (standard) against published clinical authority standards, never arbitrary "optimal" ranges. Measured in mg/L:
Recommended testing frequency: Annual, as part of a comprehensive panel. Single markers are always interpreted in context.
CRP (standard) is measured in every Health Blueprint at our Melbourne Preventative Health & Longevity Clinic, interpreted by a doctor against the guideline-cited ranges above and tracked over time through your HodieLabs membership.

Standard C-reactive protein; a general marker of infection or inflammation.
The HodieLabs Evidence-Based Clinical Library optimal range is <1 mg/L, based on ACC/AHA 2019 primary prevention guidelines; hs-CRP <1 mg/L low risk, 1–3 mg/L intermediate, >3 mg/L high cardiovascular risk. >10 mg/L usually reflects acute inflammation, not chronic CVD risk.
Annual testing is recommended for most adults as part of a comprehensive preventative panel; more often if a result is being actively managed.
Evidence-supported levers include: use standard crp for monitoring acute inflammation; use hs-crp for cardiovascular risk screening, crp >10 mg/l suggests acute infection or significant inflammation requiring investigation. Interpretation and an action plan should always involve your doctor.
CRP (standard) is measured in the HodieLabs Health Blueprint at our Melbourne Preventative Health and Longevity Clinic at 85 Spring Street, with doctor-led interpretation against evidence-based reference ranges.
