A protein that slows triglyceride clearance; linked to cardiovascular risk. Apolipoprotein C-III (ApoC-III) is measured by blood test as part of the Cardiovascular panel in the HodieLabs Health Blueprint.
ApoC-III is a key regulator of triglyceride metabolism, elevated levels directly impair TG clearance. May explain elevated TG in patients who do not respond to standard lipid therapy.
Associated risks when out of range: Inhibits lipoprotein lipase, raising triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. Promotes hepatic VLDL secretion and impairs remnant clearance. Emerging therapeutic target (volanesorsen, olezarsen).

Annual testing is recommended for most adults as part of a comprehensive preventative panel; more often if a result is being actively managed.
